DSRC Remote Tachograph Monitoring
Regulations
Regulation (EU) No 165/2014 determines that the tachograph shall be equipped with a remote communication functionality that shall enable agents of the competent control authorities to read tachograph information from passing vehicles by using remote interrogation equipment (the Remote early detection communication reader REDCR), specifically, interrogation equipment connecting wirelessly using CEN 5.8 GHz Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) interfaces. This functionality is intended to serve only as a pre-filter to select vehicles for a more thorough inspection.
Data safety
TEKSON brand offers several options of Remote Tachograph Monitoring (RTM) for the preselection control scenarios in full vehicle speed:
- DSRC RTM RP Light - based on VDO Continental DSRC transceiver including Perfect Driver App for Android
- DSRC RTM RP - based on VDO Continental DSRC transceiver including Perfect Driver App for Android and PresTacho for Windows with possible visualization
- DSRC RTM HS - based on Q–free transceiver including Perfect Driver App for Android and PresTacho for Windows
- DSRC RTM Visual - based on Q–free transceiver including Perfect Driver App for Android and PresTacho for Windows with possible visualization of up to two cameras
1. DSRC RTM RP Light
Remote tachograph monitoring system based on Android App Perfect Driver in connection with VDO antenna. System dedicated to read out RTM data from vehicles in motion with standard speed. Antenna is mounted on the inspection vehicle (dynamic control scenario for up to 120 km/h) or on a tripod (roadside control). Ideal for random control scenarios.
- Communication between VDO transceiver and Perfect Driver via Bluetooth.
- Automatic analysis of RTM data and DSRC RTM report in .pdf format available.
2. DSRC RTM RP
System based on PresTacho Windows software and Android App Perfect Driver, dedicated to read out RTM data from vehicles in motion with standard speed. Transceiver is mounted on the inspection vehicle or on a tripod.
- With the possibility of connecting a camera to visualize the read vehicles.
- System connection via Wi-Fi or cable. Remote access possible via GSM connection (OpenVPN Connect).
- Automatic analysis of RTM data and DSRC RTM report in .pdf format available for both applications.
- History of last 3 hours DSRC data and simultaneous access for several users available.
3. DSRC RTM HS & Visual
System based on PresTacho Windows software and Android App Perfect Driver, designed for various control scenarios with a possible vehicle speed exceeding 200 km/h: roadside inspection (tripod), dynamic inspection (authorities' vehicle), permanent 24/7 preselection (e.g. on road gantry).
- System connection via Wi-Fi or cable. Remote access possible via GSM connection (OpenVPN Connect).
- Antenna can be mounted on or inside (e.g. car window) an inspection vehicle, on a tripod or on road gantries for permanent stationary inspections. Depending on needs and chosen control scenario system may use up to two cameras for passing vehicle visualization – vehicle front and vehicle side.
- Automatic analysis of RTM data and DSRC RTM report in .pdf format available for both applications.
- History of last 3 hours DSRC data and simultaneous access for several users available.

PresTacho Software
DSRC RTM Preselection program for Windows including automatic RTM filter settings. Program is operating from a desktop location without the need of software installation. Compatible with different DSRC transceivers. Data between DSRC transceiver and inspector's workstation is transmitted in an encrypted manner. The agent of the competent control authority gets an access to the system by logging in to PresTacho software using the second generation control card. DSRC RTM report available in .pdf format.
Perfect Driver Application
DSRC RTM preselection application for Android including automatic RTM filter settings. Perfect Driver may work as a background App to allow Android smartphone or tablet simultaneous operation of different applications/activities. Compatible with different DSRC transceivers. Data between DSRC transceiver and inspector's workstation is transmitted in an encrypted manner. The agent of the competent control authority gets an access to the system by logging in to Perfect Driver using the second generation control card. DSRC RTM report available in .pdf format.
REST API
It is possible to integrate TEKSON DSRC RTM with external systems by providing the REST API interface. Each set has the ability to enable such a service, with which you can download data from the system in the form of a data package that is coming directly from the tachograph (encoded) or decoded by the means of our system using the SCR DSRC reader while a 2nd generation control card is inserted. It is also possible to download photos of passing vehicles which are read by the system.
